Steve Miller brings decades of leadership and hands-on experience in guiding major public infrastructure projects and community enhancements, including bond program improvements, facility upgrades, and park revitalization efforts. Miller started his career with the City of Hickory in August 1993 and has held several key roles throughout his tenure, including Street Division Manager, Assistant Public Services Director, and Public Works Director from 2020 to 2026. He now serves as Assistant City Manager for the City of Hickory.

Miller is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in Political Science. He is a past president of the North Carolina American Public Works Association – Streets Division and serves as the liaison for the Kenworth neighborhood.
