As the daily service provider for the City of Hickory, Public Services includes the Public Works and Public Utilities Departments. Service divisions include Central Services, Building Services, Engineering, Fleet, Parks & Public Properties, Recycling, Sanitation, Street, Public Utilities, and Traffic. If there is an emergency, such as a waterline break, tree across the road, or a dead animal in the road, please call Public Services at (828) 323-7500 during normal hours of Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. If you need assistance after normal hours, please call the Hickory Police Department at (828) 328-5551, and emergency personnel will be dispatched to respond as soon as possible.
