Rick Beasley - Assistant City Manager

Rick Beasley has numerous years of city management experience, having served in management roles in Conover, Lenoir, and Scotland Neck, North Carolina. Following his years in local government, Beasley went on to work at Appalachian State University as Senior Associate Athletics Director, Deputy Athletics Director, and later as Chief Development Officer. He worked two years as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development at Georgia State University, before retiring and relocating back Hickory. Beasley came out of retirement to serve as Interim Assistant City Manager in November 2017 and accepted a permanent position as Assistant City Manager in February 2018. Beasley holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Economics and a Master of Arts with a concentration in Local Government from Appalachian State University.
