Plane crash at airport

On Tuesday evening at approximately 7:56 p.m., Hickory firefighters responded to a reported plane crash at Hickory Regional Airport. The plane crashed off the side of the runway. The pilot was transported to a medical facility. The cause of the crash is unknown, and the runway is closed pending FAA investigation.
