Memorial Day office and facility closings

The City of Hickory will close its offices on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. 

Other city department closings and/or schedule updates:

Public Services
The Solid Waste Division and its services, including garbage and recycling pickup, will operate on a normal schedule on Memorial Day. 

Hickory Public Library
Hickory Public Library, the Patrick Beaver Memorial main facility and the Ridgeview Branch, will be closed on Monday, May 25.

Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism
The Administrative Offices and all recreation centers will be closed on Monday, May 25. City parks are open 365 days a year, but the splash pads at Kiwanis Park and Lowes Foods City Park remain closed due to ongoing drought conditions and mandatory water restrictions.

Police
The main lobby and Records Division at Hickory Police Department will be closed on Monday, May 25, for Memorial Day. Crash reports can be retrieved online through the department’s Crash Report Database.
