Information on recent shooting in the Mountain View community

The recent shooting and the resulting loss of a life with many others experiencing severe injuries was tragic and senseless. The Hickory Police Department and Fire Department were requested by the Catawba County Sheriff's Office and EMS to respond to the initial scene to assist them. The City of Hickory will continue its close partnership with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office and the other agencies involved in the investigation to provide any support or assistance they request. 

As the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Charlotte Field Office, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and the Catawba County Sheriff's Office continue their investigation, anyone with related information, photos, or videos are encouraged to upload them to www.fbi.gov/catawbacountyshooting or call the Catawba County Sheriff's Office at 828-464-3112.
