Hickory police investigate death case

Hickory Officers responded to reports of an unresponsive person located in the parking lot of Lowe’s Home Improvement at 1550 21st Street Drive SE around 3:55 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.

Hickory Fire Department and Catawba County EMS also responded.

First responders attempted lifesaving measures, but the individual did not regain consciousness. The individual was pronounced deceased on scene.

This incident is not considered to be suspicious in nature as of Thursday, October 8.
