Hickory Police Department promotes new Lieutenant
The Hickory Police Department is proud to announce that on Jan. 18, 2026, Sergeant Adrian Totillo was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and will serve as the Baker PACT Patrol Commander.
“This promotion to Lieutenant continues to secure our department’s leadership for years to come, as Lieutenant Totillo deeply understands the service and dedication required to uphold our agency’s commitment to community policing,” Hickory Police Chief Bryan Adams said. “Lieutenant Totillo is an asset to the citizens of Hickory, and his leadership will ensure we continue to build strong, lasting relationships within our community.”
Lieutenant Totillo graduated from Basic Law Enforcement Training at Western Piedmont Community College in 2015 and began his career with HPD. He is currently studying Criminal Justice at Catawba Valley Community College.
Totillo started his service with HPD as a patrol officer in Baker PACT and then David PACT. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2022 where he continued to serve in David PACT and then Adam PACT. He is a member of HPD’s Special Operations team and most recently was the Sergeant in the Community Services Division. He is also a Taser, Firearms, and Rapid Deployment Instructor.
Totillo is married to his beautiful wife of ten years, and they have four children together. He is an Ohio State Football fan and watches Major League Baseball. He also enjoys reading and spending time with his family.
