Hickory Fire Department responds to mobile home fire

At 20:45 Thursday night, Hickory and St. Stephens firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire located at 3010 34th Street Drive NE. On arrival at 20:51, firefighters reported fire and smoke coming from the mobile home. Firefighters were notified that all occupants were safely outside the residence. They began work to extinguish the fire, which was reported controlled at 21:03.   

Hickory Fire Department responded with two engines, one ladder, a rescue truck, and two command units. St. Stephens Fire Department, Catawba County EMS, and Hickory Police also responded to the incident.  

Damage to the mobile home was considered heavy and no injuries were reported. The Red Cross was called and will be assisting the residents.  

Hickory Fire Investigators responded to the incident and determined the fire was caused by an electrical issue.
