Hickory Fire Department recognizes Battalion Chief Elmore for distinguished career

The Hickory Fire Department is honored to recognize Battalion Chief Bradley Elmore for his outstanding dedication to the fire service and his continued leadership within the department. Chief Elmore began his career with the Hickory Fire Department in October 1995, culminating in nearly three decades of committed service to the citizens of Hickory. 

Chief Elmore’s passion for the fire service began in 1991, when he joined the City of Brevard Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter. His dedication and skill led him to continue serving that community, where he currently holds the position of Deputy Chief. 

During his time with Hickory Fire Department, Chief Elmore served in multiple roles across the organization, in 1998 he became a senior Firefighter, and in 2009 he was promoted to Captain. His leadership, professionalism, and devotion to firefighter development ultimately guided him into the role of Battalion Chief.

Throughout his career, Chief Elmore has acquired extensive training and certifications including being certified as a Firefighter, Rescue Technician, Level II Fire Service Instructor, Rapid Intervention Instructor, and a Live Burn Instructor all through the North Carolina Fire and Rescue Commission. He is also a Level 1 Fire Inspector and an EMT. He has completed courses through the National Fire Academy in Incident Command and Managing Tactical Company Operations. Elmore has also completed Fire Officer 1, 2, and 3 along with Hazardous Materials Operations level. 

Beyond his professional contributions. Chief Elmore is devoted to his family. He is married to Carrie, and together they have two sons, Justin and Nolan, who support him in his continued service to the community. In retirement, Chief Elmore looks forward to cheering on his children at sporting events and enjoying more quality time with his family.
