Friends of Hickory Public Library
Friends of Hickory Public Library is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support and service to the Library.
Friends provide the following services:
- Hold seasonal book sales
- Operate "Friends of the Library Corner Book Store" all year
- Support Summer Learning Programs
- Provide non-budgeted items and special materials and electronic products for adults and children
- Support Senior and Preschool Outreach services
- Support children's authors, adult programs and special events
- Support NC Public Library Director's legislative initiatives
- Provide library staff appreciation
- Volunteer time and energy!
Friends' members receive the following benefits:
- First access to annual book sale
- Invitations to special events
- Opportunity to volunteer for special library activities
The Friends' organization is governed by a 12-member Board of Directors elected by the membership annually. The Board meets monthly to review Friends' goals, projects, and finances.
Friends of Ridgeview Library
Friends of Ridgeview Library is an organization providing support to the library. Friends donate their time, energies, and money to help provide the best possible library service in the Ridgeview community. The Friends provide the following services:
- Support Summer Learning Programs
- Purchase special non-budgeted materials and equipment
- Sponsor special programming, such as guest speakers
- Provide library staff appreciation
Friends' members receive the following benefits:
- First access to October book sale
- Invitations to special events
- Opportunity to volunteer for library activities
Membership & Fees
Membership in the Friends is open to anyone interested in supporting Friends' activities and goals.
