Helene response updates

Emergency response operations related to Helene continue at Hickory Regional Airport.

In order for rescue and relief operations at the airport to run as efficiently as possible, citizens are asked to refrain from bringing supply donations to the airport or from visiting without prior authorization. Access to the airport is restricted to authorized personnel.

All donations for relief operations, including large cargo trucks, should be dropped off at the Appalachian State University Hickory Campus (800 17th St NW) or one of the posted Catawba County United Way collection points.
