Hickory Fire Department welcomes two new hires

The following persons have been hired as firefighters with Hickory Fire Department.

Joshua Held
Joshua Held has been hired on as a firefighter with Hickory Fire Department. Held began his firefighting career in Maryland at Walkersville Volunteer Fire Department in 2019. He is certified as a Level 2 Firefighter and in Hazardous Materials in both Awareness and Operations levels thorough the North Carolina Fire & Rescue Commission. He is also certified as an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) through the North Carolina Office of the Emergency Services. Held’s family consists of his parents, Joshua and Kathleen, and brothers Andrew, Nicholas, and Ezekiel.

Jacob Little
The Hickory Fire Department recently hired Jacob Little as a firefighter. Little began his firefighting career at the age of 14, when he joined Oxford Fire Department as a Junior Firefighter and remains as a current volunteer. Little is certified as an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) through the North Carolina Office of Emergency Services, a Level 2 Certified Firefighter and in Hazardous Materials both Awareness and Operations levels through the North Carolina Fire and Rescue Commission. Little has also obtained certifications in the areas of Emergency Vehicle Driver and Technical Rescue. His family consists of parents, Tina and Brandon Little, and one younger brother named Dakota.
