Firefighters to Practice Skills during Training Fire

On Wednesday, May 29, Hickory firefighters will be conducting a live burn exercise, which consists of burning a house. The training exercise will be held in the area of 925 4th Ave Drive NW and will allow firefighters to practice their skills.  

The drill is scheduled to start around 8:30 a.m. and should be concluded by 5:00 p.m. Plans are for roads to remain open during the exercise; however, there could be traffic congestion due to the burn.
